DA LAMA — also written DALAMA, DA_LAMA or DaLaMaZz — was a crew of friends from the Dutch BBS scene who made tracker music in the mid-nineties. Some of the older tracks still carry the name JUICE, the crew several members were part of before and alongside Da Lama. Home base was SPYCO BBS: that’s where the tracks landed first, and from there they travelled from board to board.
The crew: SikeE, Weird Ed, White Label, Phrenetic, Necron and Freddy Krueger, with Vape, Altar, Stranixx, Feel-x and Compa around them. The files in this area date from 1994 to 1998.

Every track here was made in a tracker: ScreamTracker 3 (the .S3M files) and FastTracker 2 (the .XM files). In a tracker a song is a stack of patterns that scroll from top to bottom. Each column is a channel, and on every row you can start a note, pick an instrument, set a volume and add an effect. The instruments are small samples — taken from records, synths and whatever else was lying around — and the whole song, samples and all, fits in one file.
